W4TEX Transnational Ideathon in Greece
- Location: Larissa, Greece
- Date(s): 27-29 January 2026
- Hosting partner organization: KAINOTOMIA
The W4TEX Transnational Ideathon was successfully held in Greece, following the Fashion Innovation Workshop (National Ideathon in Greece), hosted by KAINOTOMIA between January 27-29, 2026.
This trananational event brought together learners and professionals from six countries (Belgium, Spain, Italy, Ukraine, Sweden and Greece) creating a vibrant environment for collaboration, creativity, and cross-cultural exchange in sustainable fashion.
This ideathon workshop combined theoretical sections with interactive, hands-on group activities to prepare participants for the main Ideathon part. The icebreaker Getting to Know Each Other – Identity Cycle helped establish international teams, encouraging trust, collaboration, and team cohesion. Participants took part in leadership and management exercises with a special focus on women’s leadership in the textile industry, strategic problem-solving tasks, and exercises aimed at enhancing self-awareness and defining individual roles within teams. Communication and presentation skills were also strengthened, ensuring that participants could articulate their ideas clearly and confidently. The combination of these activities created an engaging learning environment that empowered participants to contribute fully to the Ideathon.
During the Ideathon itself, teams worked intensively to develop innovative solutions to contemporary fashion challenges, with a focus on sustainable production, circular economy-practices, and socially responsible approaches. The international composition of the teams enabled the exchange of diverse perspectives, fostering creative thinking and broadening participants’ understanding of global fashion trends and sustainability strategies. Through this collaborative process, participants enhanced their skills in creative and strategic thinking, international teamwork, leadership and group management, effective communication, and the development and presentation of actionable, innovative solutions.
Feedback from participants was overwhelmingly positive. Video testimonials from them highlighted the high quality of the educational content, the clear structure of the program, and the significant contribution of the Ideathon to personal and professional development. Many participants noted how the experience not only strengthened their technical skills but also enhanced their confidence, adaptability, and ability to work in multicultural environments.
The W4TEX Transnational Ideathon confirmed the importance of international initiatives in fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainability in the fashion sector. By bringing together creative minds from across Europe, W4TEX contributes to shaping a more sustainable, innovative, and cooperative future for the textile and fashion industries. Initiatives like this demonstrate that cross-border collaboration and experiential learning are powerful drivers for creating long-term positive impact in the European fashion ecosystem.
